Expo I 2006


An extraordinary and very successful opening night held at all 3 art galleries in Port Elizabeth. An exhibition of over 500 oil paintings of artists who have studied under the mastership of Leonè Tonkinson. This exhibition featured a wide variety of oil painting techniques, subject matter ranging from Landscapes, Seascapes, Portraiture, Still life and Wild life. In modern, contemporary and abstract styles. Also boasted workshops in crystal, silver and studies of the old masters. The Expo 2006 -Exhibition was open from the 17^th of April through to the 6th May. 		A special thank you to all the artists who made this event, not only a very special one, but also great fun!! Thank goodness every student was familiar with the drill. It took 5 days to hang this exhibition, over all 3 galleries. There were over 500 oil paintings to be hung, labeled and catalogued. This exhibition featured a wide variety of oil painting techniques, subject matter ranging from Landscapes, Seascapes, Portraiture, Still life and Wild life. In modern, contemporary and abstract styles. Also boasted workshops in crystal, silver and studies of the old masters. The Expo 2006 -Exhibition was presented from Tuesday the 17^th of April through to the 6th May.

	There is always something very special about seeing the artwork of your mastership students on the walls of a gallery. The most astonishing aspect of all, was to see that each and every student had clearly mastered their own personal style. We referred to this as, personal signature. Out of all the courses and workshops that the art master at Tonkinson Fine Art Studio, has offered. developing an artists SIGNATURE has been the most rewarding aspect of all.
